Extensions.
Everything you need to know about Hidden Weft Extensions including installation, care & cost as well as the additional techniques my team & I offer and maintain.
Beaded Row Extensions are quickly becoming one of the most popular extension methods available today. They can be used to give your hair added volume, length and fullness. They are also the quickest and easiest way to achieve many popular color trends - hello damage free balayage!
They are lightweight, comfortable, a breeze to install, and are easy to maintain. Best of all they are the LEAST damaging extension method available. There is absolutely no glue, tape, bonding, heat or harsh chemicals involved. It's simply cushioned micro-beads, thread, and extension wefts. The finish is a seamless blend that looks so natural most people won’t have any idea you even have extensions!
Weft hair comes in many different forms & price points.
Genius Wefts, are my preferred extension of choice. They are ultra light, double drawn and lay flat to the scalp, making them virtually invisible. They also can be cut to size like machine tied wefts, meaning they are customizable to each individual client's head size. They are perfect for clients with fine hair. They can also be stacked to create more customizable color options.
I have a trusted distributor that I work with directly, which gives me the ability to customize the color and length to each client. They carry a variety of color options including balayage and ombré color effects. The hair is Remy meaning the cuticle is still intact and laying in it's natural direction, so the hair is silky and won't become rough and matted easily with proper care.
Installation is a Breeze. For anyone who has had other methods of extensions, you know that typically it's a process that can easily take up to six hours. Not so with Hidden Row Extensions- a first time installation usually takes at the VERY most 3 hours! This includes personalizing and blending the wefts to your natural hair. I've outlined the basic steps you can expect.
Beading the Row
Hair is sectioned in a horseshoe
around the head. Micro beads, lined with silicone to protect your natural hair, are evenly spaced and installed to create a "row". The beads are not in contact with the scalp preventing irritation.
Sewing in the Weft
Extension wefts are then securely sewn to both sides of the row of beads, hiding them completely. The weight of the weft hair is evenly distributed along the row and this ensures that there is minimal impact to your natural hair. Genius wefts are ultra light and sit close to the scalp.
Seamless Finish
This is repeated up the head typically for 2-3 rows, depending on the end goal and the amount of wefts being applied. The end result is a seamless blend of extension hair into natural hair that can be styled up or down depending on your personal preference.
After Care is the Most Important Part of getting the longest wear out of your extension hair. This extension technique is very low-maintenance and great for active lifestyles. You can wear your hair up or down, swim, run, etc-however improper care can lead to damage of the extension hair and your natural hair.
Truly great quality hair extensions are an investment, so it's important to treat them well. This means using the right shampoo and conditioner, not over-washing (2-3 times per week is ideal), brushing them regularly and properly, and of course moving them up every 6-8 weeks.

Move-Ups should be scheduled every 6-8 weeks and most of this depends on just how quickly your hair grows. As your natural hair grows, the point where the beaded row is attached slowly moves down away from the scalp. During this time it feels like your extensions have more weight to them and that they are more floppy and loose. Though they may feel loose, rest assured they are still very securely attached to your hair and will not suddenly "slide out" as can happen with other methods. However, you will want to take special care not to brush above the weft when there is space between the wefts and your scalp.
During a move-up appointment, I simply remove the wefts from the row, reset brand new beads flush with the scalp, and re-sew the wefts to the row. A typical move-up appointment takes around one hour per row.
You like my hair? Gee thanks, just bought it...Let's talk cost. Each person is going to be a little different when it comes to cost. It really will depend on what your hair goals are. Are you trying to add a lot of length or do you just need extra volume? How long and thick is your hair now? What color or color effect are you going for? All of these factors will dictate how many wefts you will need as well as how many rows will be necessary. If you are going for length, you will need more wefts and rows than someone who is only looking to add volume. The length of the actual weft is also a factor in price. Hair can be ordered from lengths ranging from 12" to 26". Purchasing your specific length significantly reduces the cost of hair.
Typically I have each client come in to have a consultation to establish what their hair goals are and match them for color before we actually do an installation. This is not a small purchase, so it's important to be thorough and take the time to fit you with the perfect color and length. I have included a basic pricing breakdown to give you an idea of cost, but only an actual consultation will give you the true total. I will install hair purchased by a client independently, but I would encourage caution. The adage is true: "Good hair isn't cheap & cheap hair isn't good" -what may seem like a "good deal" is typically hair of very poor quality and durability.
